Boston Kimono Academy’s mission is to spread awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the Japanese kimono traditions and culture. Japanese kimono is a beautiful silk garment that has a long history and is typically handed down from generation to generation. Our instructors teach students how to wear kimono formally and properly. Students typically bring their own kimono to follow along and practice. The class is open to the public and everyone is welcome to observe the proper way to wear kimono.
