Organization or Program title:
Venezuelan Association of Massachusetts - Short Film Video about Venezuelan Migrants
Room:
Watertown Savings Bank Meeting Room
Program Description:
We are screening a Short Film Video from Circuit Arts, which is part of the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival. This video is about the 50 Venezuelan migrants that landed in Martha's Vineyard last September. We, Venezuelan Association of Massachusetts (non-profit) has been working with Venezuelan migrants since founded in 2019. Last year, was a year full of challenges to our Association which worked tirelessly and without financial resources to meet migrants' needs. On July 5th, Venezuela commemorate its independece, and we want to be able to show this video this day as a way to show how our Venezuelan community has to face challenges even in the USA after being forced to flee its dear country of Venezuela due to a severe humanitarian crisis there. We are more than 7,200,000 displaced in the world, and around 545,000 have come to the United States, which is considered for many as a land of opportunities and hope.
