Modular Origami (Zoom)

You may know origami as a craft where a single square of paper is folded into a model. In modular, or “unit” origami, multiple single-square units are folded and then assembled together into a three-dimensional object—all without cutting or gluing. Once you’ve learned how to make and assemble the basic unit, you’ll want to make bigger and bigger assemblies—the hardest part is stopping!

In this relaxing, instructor-led Zoom workshop, you will learn how to make one of the easiest modular origami units, as well as how to build them into assemblages of 3, 6, and 12. Along the way we’ll talk about cool applications of modular origami, as well as other ways that you can use these units to build whatever you want. It's a wonderful papercraft that really builds on itself!

Registration is required. Workshop kits will available for pickup in-person at Hatch Makerspace starting Friday 9/10.
Please register for the course first, then check in with a staffperson or volunteer when you arrive at Hatch.

All ages 12 and above are welcome.
