(At Hatch) Presentation Night: Musical Instrument Making

Join Hatch volunteers, staff, and guests for a celebration of handmade musical instruments and the makers who create them. The evening will combine presentations from makers on how they made their instruments, Q+A, live demonstrations, and the chance to try these instruments out yourself. Join us for a fun evening inspired by Watertown Porchfest!

Featured presenter: Daniel Ozick
Software Architect, Engineer, Inventor, Roboticist, and maker of the Zoot
Hear the story of a curious and self-motivated maker who wanted to create a highly expressive yet easy-to-play electronic wind instrument. Daniel Ozick will demonstrate and answer your questions about Zoot as he shows its evolution from first working proof of concept through multiple prototype iterations to polished product. Learn how Daniel developed Zoot’s firmware and companion app and see some of the tools he uses for real-time debugging. Finally, take the opportunity to try playing a Zoot yourself!

No registration needed.

This event takes place at WFPL’s Hatch Makerspace, located at 20 Summer Street in Watertown, just a few blocks away from the Library. Hatch is an entirely free workspace full of tools and materials that you can use anytime we're open.
