(At Hatch) Potato Batteries *Sustainability Series + OCTUBER*

* This workshop is part of both our Sustainability Series and OCTUBER: a month-long celebration of potatoes at Hatch! *

Using potatoes, pennies, nails, and other simple materials, we will make working batteries and measure their electrical charges. The instructors will explain the chemistry of the materials and why they activate electronic components like LEDs.

All materials and tools are provided.

This workshop is for adults and older children ages 12+. Children ages 12-17 may attend on their own as long as their parent or legal guardian first cosigns Hatch's waiver form (in person).

Registration is required.

This event takes place at WFPL’s Hatch Makerspace, located at 20 Summer Street in Watertown, just a few blocks away from the Library. Hatch is an entirely free workspace full of tools and materials that you can use anytime we're open.

Registration is required for this event.
