Our Heritage in Mount Auburn Cemetery

Library UseHelp the WFPL and the Historical Society of Watertown in welcoming local cemetery historian and Mount Auburn volunteer researcher Bill McEvoy, Jr. for a discussion and cemetery tour of the Catholic Mount Auburn Cemetery. Join us on 9/15 for a presentation to learn about McEvoy’s four year study of the approximately 23,000 individuals, most of whom were Irish immigrants, who were buried in the Catholic-only portion of Mount Auburn Cemetery from 1854 to 1920. Then, join Bill outside on 9/18 for a living history tour of the cemetery in person! Go walk among the graves of the people who have shaped our Watertown local history in many ways, and hear about them through the eyes of an expert.
