Introduction to Geocaching

Looking for a new outdoor hobby? Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity where participants use navigational techniques to hide and seek containers called "geocaches" at specific locations all over the world. Come learn about what geocaching is, and then get started right here in Watertown! We will start in the WSBR, and then go outside to hunt geocaches around Watertown.

Wendy Birchmire, a retired Guidance Counselor, has been caching since 2001 - the year after the sport began. To date, she has found over 7700 geocaches. She has found a geocache in each of the 351 towns/cities in Massachusetts, as well as 12 World Countries.
